Pours clear dark amber with thin beige foam. Aromas of toffee, hazelnuts, dried red fruit, raisins. The taste is a bit of spice, melanoid, biscuit notes, then raisins, the whole permeated with liqueur sweetness. Clean finish, light earthy and herbal notes and a bit of warming in the throat. Pleasant.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Clear red-brown with thin off white top. Boozy sweet fruit cake, dark chocolate, caramel on the nose. Taste of sweet mixed fruit, dark malts, chocolate, medicine. Rich and tangy. Medium to full bodied, moderate carbonation, not too boozy in the finish. Lacks a bit of finesse but its bloomin' tasty.

Clear amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Sweet malts, cream and caramel and a light malty chocolate, emphasis on the malty. Modest ripe fruits on the semi dry finish that also brings mild esters. Pretty sweet but quite drinkable and hides the 8.7% quite well.

330ml bottle bought from Beers of Europe, Norfolk and drunk at home. Medium brownish red and clear with a teensy bit of a ring of white head. Sweet cherry, chocolatey malt, some toffee, a metallic note on the nose. Sweet, malty, slightly fruity and incredibly boozy. Some medicinal bitterness in the finish adds to the cough syrup effect. Heavily carbonated. A mess but a lovely, big, fun mess. Bring it.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear dark amber with a thin beige head. Aromas of toffee, hazelnut, dark red fruit. Taste has some spice and booze heat. More hazelnut and fruity malt character, then raisins. Clean finish. Nice.
