Very smooth, moderately sweet, soft roast, gooey chocolate, raspberry, raisins, a little earthy hop, modest boozy warmth. Lightly sticky finish, lovely chocolate-covered berry notes. Highly drinkable.

Bottle at CBJ, thanks to LKS. Near clear dark brown beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Tangy and slightly bitter dark malts. Tangy bourbon soaked ripe fruits, airy and semi dry finish. Decent but suffering in comparison with some of the other stellar Impies opened today.

Bottle thanks to Dan. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong cocoa, licorice, vanilla, wood, bourbon. Slick body, strong vanilla, cocoa, roast, nice sweetness, light booze, enjoyed this.

375ml (thanks, Alex M.G.!) @ Ryan's after kids' time. Appearance: almost black with a dark beige head. Aroma: a lot of vanilla, some American oak, some chocolate, some roasted malts. Taste: along the same lines, chocolate, fruity. Overall: I am not sure what people were saying about this one being overly sweet, it is not, and it is very far from that IMHO. Just ok, not a good representative of BBA IS from US.

Poured from 375mL bottle. Black with beige head. Vanilla forward with some cacao and fruitiness, barely picking up any bourbon here. It's fine. Forgettable.

Bottle pour shared by ClarkVV--thanks, Clark! It's an opaque brown with ring of beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, vanilla. Taste is strongly sweet malt, vanilla. Mouthfeel is full bodied with thick texture. Overall, really sweet and not getting any bourbon that would cut it. Not wanting to finish this.

500 ml bottle shared by ClarkVV. Aroma is mild vanilla and cocoa and sugar. Flavor is the same as the aroma. A bit more sugar to provide a balanced stout. A touch to sweet.

375mL bottle drunk 7/22/23. Clear dark mahogany. ring of beige bubbles. Pepper, lead, graphite. Caramel, definite vanilla. more lead. Really nice drying. Soft, juicy malt, vanilla and peppery acidity. Lead and graphite, good acidity, definitely still sweet but the vanilla is well done. Could be more dry, for sure.
