Bottle at C&R Pre-GBBF Tasting 2017. It pours cloudy darkest brown with a small beige head. The aroma is soft, sweet, toasted grain, cocoa, earth, wood and treacle. The taste is dry, bitter, earthy roast, wood, leather, ash, charred action, mil astringency, cocoa and burnt toast with a drying finish. Medium body and average carbonation. I get this light astringent note which is rather off-putting. An average porter.
