330ml bottle. Clear, orangey, pale amber colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing white head. Cautious, mellow malty, toasty grainy aroma, fruity hoppy hints of red berries, minimally soggy-dusty, yeasty overtones. Taste is slightly fruity hoppy and minimally sweet, biscuity-grainy malty, cautious hints of red and blue berries, soggy-dusty yeasty overtones; super soft, smooth palate. A bit cautious and anaemic, nice fruitiness.

Keg at the brewery tap. A hazed golden orange coloured pour with a lasting frothy off white head. Aroma is neutral, some pale bready malts and hints of jammy fruits. Flavour is composed of nutty pale malts, almond, maybe hi ts of sorachi. Mineral. Slightly stale. Palate is medium light raw grains, highish carbonation. Drying finish. Something a little off about it.

Cask at the Reading beer festival. Crisp if a little cardboardy at first. Some autumn leaf comes through, along with some orange. Growing smokiness in the pleasing finisg. I like this.

Keg at the brewery taproom. Pours cloudy, dark gold with a creamy white head. Some floaties. Bready, lightly doughy malts on the nose, some tangy citrus fruits. Light-medium sweet with nicely rounded bready malts, biscuits, a bit of toasted hay, tangerine. Light bodied with average, massaging carbonation and creamy texture. Nicely balanced to finish, further ready and biscuity malts, subtle citrus tones, mild bitterness of hay. Overall a very nice beer.

Keg at the Brick brewery. It pours clear amber with a small beige head. The nose is grainy, dough, toast, farmhouse loaf and some underlying sweetness. The taste is crisp, doughy, grain, brown bread and light bitterness with a crisp, dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Well rounded and high drinkability. Good example of the style.

Cask at EBF XVI, 09/11/13. Hazed dark amber with a good sized light beige head. Nose carries a citric tang, bitter fruits, bread dough, lightly soured fruit aroma with a touch of soap. Taste comprises a lactic tang, yeasty, bitter fruits, orange pith. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation with a dry bitter conclusion. Rough around the edges - a very mediocre affair!
