18 December 2024. Christmas Beer Evening with the lovely Anke! Can from Mr. Hop.
A: hazy dark ochre, small, foamy, white head.
A: ripe grape, melon, berries, redcurrant, herbs.
T: sweetish melon & grape, bitter herbs & berry skin.
F: herbal hops, green fruit, berries.
P: medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation.
Quite clean, but nothing special either.

Can drunk after a nice Sunday wherein I picked an unholy amount of Szechuan pepper and dried it for four and a half hours in the oven. Medium orange beer, nice head, unassuming nose with light tropical notes and floral overtones, maybe a hint of caramel. Flavor is mildly juicy, with smooth bitterness and balanced sweetness. Definitely a hint of wine flavor in there. Excellent entry!

44cl Blik van Bierwinkel Alkmaar. Troebel geeloranje kleur, witte kraag. Grassig, harsig, dennen, zoet, Barbe Rouge is dominant en dat vind ik geen top-hop, mist frisheid, fruitig, rijp fruit, grassig-harsige finish. Medium bodied. Green wint met een straatlengte wat mij betreft.

0.44 l can from 'DeBiersalon.nl', canned in April 2024. Very hazy, orangeish amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, rather fruity, slightly dank aroma of orange, passion fruit, mango and hints of gooseberry. Quite sweet, rather fruity, juicy and a bit dank taste of mango, orange, passion fruit, some gooseberry and hints of green pepper, followed by a short, hardly bitter finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty NEIPA.

Tap. Nose is intensely fruity, tropical, ripe mango, pineapple, peach. Taste follows, very tropical, pineapple, mango, faint hint of lime in a short sweet finish. Thick body. Classic fruity neipa. Very good.

Tap at Craft and Draft, Amsterdam, 22nd May 24. Pours orange. Atoma is floral, citrus, tropical. Taste is subtle, aromatic, a little muted and not as punchy as Green.
