Cask by stillage at One Inn The Wood, Petts Wood on 5th July 2024. Clear amber with shallow foam and pattern lacing. Rich malty aroma. Pithy fruitiness in-mouth, and a finish of light berry fruits, and a few light hints of bitterness. Light bodied with a zingy mouthfeel.

Cask @ The Shipwrights Arms, Faversham. Labeled “Shipwreck” but probably the same as Special Ale (House Ale ). Practically clear, dark golden body with a small off-white head. A mild malty aroma with notes of fruit. Smooth malty flavor with fruit and a pleasant bittering level. Medium body, actually very fine in body compared to the low ABV and nice malty aftertaste with bitter hops as well. A very pleasant session ale after a long walk to this pub.

Gravity dispensed at Doris’s (The Red Lion), Snargate. Labelled as DSB, presumably Doris’s Special Bitter. AMber with a thin ring of white head; warm earthy malt aromas and a hint of farmyard; more earthy malt flavours; well-balanced light dry bitter finish. Very pleasant.

Cask handpull at Dering Arms, Pluckley. Badged as Dering Ale. Deep copper, lasting white head. Extremely malty and hoppy. Orange/tangerine fruit, somewhat like candied fruit with smack of bitter hops on end. One of the best pints of this that I’ve had in a time. Seems to have more of the fine light ale about it than the dark. Distinctive Goacher’s aroma and just slightly acidic in the mouth
