Darker Daze is the barrel aged version of our finely crafted collaboration stout Dark Daze. Expect treacle and chocolate upfront followed by a big, dry roasted finish. Big flavour and aroma from oak barrel aging takes Dark Daze to the next level! We've aged these three very limited edition imperial stouts for months in fresh American Whiskey, Scotch Whisky and French Cognac oak barrels.

Bottle shard at Cotteridge get together. Pungent boozy whisky aroma. Dark and glossy. Creamy beige head. Coffee and liquorice. Tar. Hazy whisky fronds. Medium bodied. On the thin side. Fizzy carbonation. Long finish. Good stuff.

Shared bottle (number 125 of only 175); Cotteridge gathering 23rd June 2018. An off-white head sat on top of my dark brown sample, looked mean and interesting. The nose held some whiskey/bourbon like esters alongside some dark berry and malty molasses within it's aroma. Taste was sweeter than I expected from the sniffs, malty and boozy. Smooth body feel.

Bottle split at Cotteridge Convention IV, picked up at the Lab #125/175, 23/06/18. Black with a well presented tan head. Nose is mellow barrel, charr, light smoke, toffee, light black peppery spice, cocoa powder. Taste comprises dark chocolate, dark malts, mellow roast, light barrel, black peppery spice, fruit cake. Medium plus body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with balanced alcohol. Ok easy drinking BA impy if a touch simplistic.
