I think i had a dry hopped version of this at the C’est what? spring beerfest in 2006. There was a reall ynice nose of english hops, its was actually kinda skunky it was so hoppy. I seem to recall it being served at room temperature, and it was abubble frothy head, so i’m guessing it was on cask. Nice beer, great english pale ale. well made.

Pours a clean amber colour with a big frothy beige head, good retention and thick foamy lacing. The hop is kind of sharp in the nose taking away from the caramel and roasted malts. Wow, just like their Armchair Scotch Ale, seems like the hops used in here is totally not the right one. Maybe got a special on this one. Sucks!! Fruity malts help this out a bit. Again, not a well-balanced brew. Looks good. That’s about it.

Bottle from the LCBO. Clear medium copper with a good sized off white head that fades gradually. Nose is mostly caramel malts with a touch of floral hops. Medium light sweetness with an underlying light bitter hop base and hints of wood. Mouth is a bit thin and watery with soft carbonation. Decent enough.

Bottle my non-beer geek family members raved about it. The aroma is citrus and grainy caramel malts. Nice full body & silky smooth. The taste is a lightly citrus zest & mild caramel with some breadiness. A very clean English style pale ale. A well made beer but not outstandinfg or anything.

This Pale ale poured a nice dark amber colour with a quick living, off white, rocky head. From a bottle purchased from the brewery, To the nose there are scents of caramel, coffee, roasted malts and a little smoke. First sip was smooth with a good douse of roasted flavour. Other flavours of caramel, juniper/ spruce and smoke are at the forefront. Finish is bitter with roasted caramel flavours lasting

Hazy amber ale with a thin creamy off white head. Light english hops in aroma, with notes of caramel. In mouth, however, the hops are very present, in your face, with a very woody character, followed by sweet caramel, and lingering bitterness. A nice EPA. Used to drink this in Guelph, in 92-93, and they havent lost their touch.

Toasty, dry, lightly caramelly and well-balanced. The toastiness is a yeast effect which is especially evident if you are lucky enough to find this beer on cask.
