Inspired by the famous Lakeland fell-walker Alfred Wainwright, our master brewers go the extra mile too. They search near and far for quality English malt and hops and tirelessly craft unique combinations worthy of the Wainwright name, like this satisfyingly moreish Amber Ale. Full-bodied flavour that’s creamy and lightly fruity, with a crisp, clean finish. Enjoy.

The 'Wainwrights' are categorised as 214 peaks in the Lake District National Park. Slightly darker amber colour, with pithy orange fruit somewhat available in a session ale texture and smoothish taste. Aroma similar. Found at the Marston pub The Kings Head in Ulverston.

[50cl bottle from Morrison's, Bracknell.] An amber pour with a thick white head and heavy carbonation; biscuity malt aroma; stewed malt taste with some caramel and a hint of grassy bitterness. Not great, but what do you expect at £1 a bottle these days?

Duke of York, Whitby on Saturday night 18th January 2025. Hand pulled pint. Looked fine, clean and clear amber with a decent white crown. Malty with a good hop content for bitterness and a subtle fruity feel.
