16oz (thx, Alex G.!) @ Central Park shared with wife.
Malty, flowery, a bit fruity, some pleasant lager hops. Pleasant one.

Fairly clean, a very slight haze, mid-golden colour with a white frothy cap, good stay and foamy lacing. Aromas are a nice blend of cereal malts, some fresh herbal hop notes and hints of yeast. Malty cereal taste with some corn and the fresh herbs. Crisp mouthfeel with a nice, mild drying touch. Quite a nice, refreshing, crisp Kölsch with a nice blend of light cereal malts and grassy-herbal hops.

Bottle: Poured a slightly hazy golden color Kolsch with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of cereal notes with light dry herbal hops notes. Taste is also a mix of cereal notes with some herbal hops notes and some residual sugar notes. Body is about average with great carbonation. Enjoyable beer with smooth drinkability but not sure this is really Kolsch.

Ok, it's hazy, and that's not kolsch, unless you specify that it's wies'n, which they did not. Thick head that dies down. Yeasty aroma. Sweet, low bitterness, some gloppy pale malts. Yeasty finish. This really misses the mark. It's woefully underhopped. The malts aren't up to par. It's too yeasty. Misses the style every step of the way. This is the work of someone who has never been to Cologne, never had a kolsch, never seen a picture of a kolsch and never read a kolsch recipe. What the fuck.
