With more oats and lactose than is sensible to brew with, this beer delivers a super sweet, viscous body and silky finish. Add to that cocoa nibs, a good dosing of vanilla, milky Perle and fruity Aurora hops, it's delectably dessert-like. It does as it says on the tin; tastes like ice scream. If you take a little more time to enjoy it, you get fluffy whipped cream, bursts of strawberry fromage frais and refreshing cream soda rolling around your palate; childish nostalgia couldn't taste better. Made in collaboration with London Amateur Brewers to mark their 10th anniversary.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Cloudy orange beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth dry malts, swestish dry vanilla. Little orange. Mild red berry fruits. Smooth dry finish. There is a light ice cream vibe here. Decent.

Tap at CBM Osaka. Creamy gold, look nice enough. Nose is citrus, corn, orange sherbet, milk. Kake-ass sweet sherbet flavor dms-like corniness, creamy grapefruit and apricot. This is gross. drain pour. Please stopping telling me that crap like this is beer.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co St Mary Axe, Aldgate, London, 24 Nov 2017) Golden amber colour, hazy, with foamy white head. Fruity, malty nose with citrus, vanilla, white bread and ice cream. Fruity taste with notes of citrus, apricots, vanilla, white bread and a gentle citric bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. A bit odd, but fairly tasty. Quite nice.

330ml bottle. Murky orange with an off-white head. Aroma is fruity, creamy, vanilla. Taste of fruits, vanilla ice cream, lactose, not much cocoa at all, fairly sweet, light bitter finish. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation. Not bad, had better "ice cream" beers.

Cask at Pig's Ear 2017. It pours hazy yellow with a medium white head. The aroma is quite soft, fresh, creamy, sugary, marshmallow, vanilla ice - cream and butterscotch. The taste is slick, sweet, sugary, chewy, vanilla ice - cream, bit of green veg, yoghurt, lactic and some peachy stone fruits. Medium body and fine carbonation. Fun idea, but a bit too sweet and sticky for my liking.

Cask at The 34th Pig’s Ear & Cider Festival, Hackney, London. A hazy golden/orange coloured pour with a thin white head on top. Sweet, creamy, malty, vanilla aroma. Tastes quite sweet, creamy, malty, vanilla. I used to love cream soda as a kid so this one went down well.
