Oud Beersel Kriekenlambiek is a traditional Lambic beer, produced by the addition of real sour cherries for natural fermentation in young Lambic. Once the cherries have been fully macerated and fermented, the Kriekenlambiek is blended with an older lambic to reach the desired flavor. For each liter of Kriekenlambiek, there are 400g of sour cherries. It is not sweetened; no flavorings or preservatives have been added.

On tap at Mal/Velk, pours an opaque dark pinkish purple with a small pink head. Aroma brings out intensely tart cherries, with a fairly subdued funk. Flavour is a huge cherry bomb, with wonderful tart cherries, followed a nice barnyard funk subtly making its way through. Just mildly acidic, with tons of tart cherries on the finish. Excellent.

2 June 2018. Dag van de Kriek, at 'In de Verzekering tegen de Grote Dorst'.
Pours cloudy dark red, no head. Strong aroma of sour cherry, wood, yoghurt, lactic acid, sherry, almond, candied cherry, red grapes, red wine even. It tastes medium fruity sour, some funk & 'kriek', and light sweet with notes of sweet cherry & jam; wood, marzipan & vinegar in the back. Tart finish, more vinegar & cherry, lingering red fruits & red wine. Medium body, slick/oily texture, flat carbonation. Extraordinary stuff!
