Creamy off white head stayed on an unclear rustic body. Spiced fruit & tea aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a clean back. Spiced, fruity, tangy, grape & hoppy tastes with a malt undercurrent & long bitter finish. Unusual.

Can from the brewery online and drunk at home. Hazy pale russet colour lasting beige head. A bit odd. Sweet. toffee. Very hoppy and bitter on the finish. Some citrus fruits. Some sharpness some wild fruits. Interesting. Not sure I would drink it again but interesting in a wild sour sweet way. normally I would say this was off. it is sour like a unblended lambic.

Bottle from Drink? Hebden Bridge. Golden-amber with an extremely thin head. Wood and wine are prevalent - the grape influence certainly in taste, as is the barrel ageing. Its aroma is a little more regular, with hint of fruity sweetness. A tad sticky in texture.

Bottle courtesy of dad (cheers dad!), consumed at home Easter Sunday 27th March 2016 in the company of Isobel, Dom and Georgia. Pours a slightly murky amber colour with a white/off-white head. Mhhh this is a strange one, A touch of boozy banana toffee on nose with something else that is a little petrol and or getting plasticy. Do not like this at all, a confused barrel aged mess, funny flavours, fruity, boozy, woody but the barrel ageing has totally swamped what was probably a damn good base beer, it just tastes artificial to me, not a fan at all, threw this away. ChrisO Tasting. Hazy amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry. Decent fine carbonation. Notably tangy wheaty malts with a little rye like spice, only my second Chevalier malt beer, but the taste seems quite distinctive. Thin malt cream. Good citric peel, touch of ripe orange. Unsweet esters. Interesting beer.

Bottle at ChrisO’s Pre-Christmas Tasting. It pours clear gold - amber with a medium white head. The nose is toasted grain, earth, dried malts, honeyed cereal and some apple. The taste is toasty, earthy, cereal, toasted grain, porridge, honey, spice, dry wood and grass. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Cereal / porridge character. Interesting and quite unique.

Bottle split at Chriso pre Xmas tasting, 06/12/15. Clear golden orange with a decent off white cap. Nose is bitter citrics, light orchard, green apple, bready notes. Taste comprises citric peel, melon, orange, vanilla, airy malt, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light hop bitterness. Ok but rather pedestrian for the style.
