Bottle shared at the chriso and Ruth pre-Christmas / post-Pigs Ear holiday tasting of 2015 - London. Cheers! Pours clear, orange-gold with a light, foamy off-white head. The nose holds toffee, ripe fruits, dates. Medium sweet flavour, lightly earthy, with toffee, faint leafy hops, bread and honey. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish, with notes of toasted bread, toffee, ripe fruits, dates, figs and caramel. A very tasty doppelbock.

Bottle, 8.5%. Fruity and slightly buttery aroma with some fresh clove and a little soap. Almost clear dark brown colour. Semi-stable off-white head. The flavour is roasted with a little malt syrup to it. Spicy hoppiness. A rather rough bitterness and some burnt plastic in the finish. Quite sweet, actually.

Bottle. Pours hazy copper brown with airy beige head. Clear aroma of fruit and malt, with some hoppy and farty notes. Sweetish flavour of malt, with notes of fruit and raisins and bitter touches of hops. Bitterish and estery aftertaste with acetic hints. Warming alcohol presence. Okay but nothing really impressive.
