Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a soft transparent amber color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a nice pace. Stringy lace.
The aroma had some banana, citrus, Belgian yeast, breadiness, and ends with some floral qualities.
The flavor leans towards the sweet side initially and ends up warming into the clove nicely. Subtle crisp citrus/banana aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fine sessionability about it. Mild carbonation. ABV felt right as the brewer says.
Overall, this was a nicely done Belgian strong ale that I would have again if I could.

Draught at Portland Craft, Vancouver
Hazy light amber color, with creamy head. It’s another sweet imitation of Belgian, without the true yeast character, but with a good level of sweetness, round mouthfeel, sweet malt flavor, lingering fruitiness, low bitterness; it ends with a very light feeling of creamy Italian cheese (stracchino).

650 ml bottle. Pours amber with almost no head. Aromas of cereal, grass, and light citrus. Flavors of malts, biscuit, and lime. Somewhat sour finish. Not what I was expecting but interesting.

Why do I have a feeling this beer is going to be a piece of shit? I had a bad feeling as soon as I picked it up off the shelf. Bomber bought at Super 1 in CDA, ID. Pours hazy cantalolupe with a medium cream-colored head that collapses into a blanket of foam after a minute or so, leaving some decent lace. Aroma is similar to rancid meat. Taste is sweet and spicy with a bitter finish. Very strrrraaaannnge. Has a hint of that Duvel character the brewers were undoubtably going for, but a hint is just a hint. They either needed to make a reasonably acceptable clone, go above and beyond Duvel, or make a successful experiment based on the Duvel recipe. This does none of the above.

Bottle shared by Kyle via Ben, thanks guys. Poured a hazy amber gold with a white head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma had notes of grain with some yeast, an odd soap note and a bit of hops. Flavor was full of grain and yeast with a soap note that was slightly unpleasant.

Bottle at bu11zeye’s. Pours with a tight, off-white head and a golden hue body. Good lacing. Aroma of rotten fruits and cereal. Taste is cantalope, strawberries, and a bit of lime (a fruity fuck as Lumpy called it). Light bubbles.

Bomber from Bottleworks; Nose of coriander, nutmeg, caramel, and yeast; clear red tinged yellow with a medium off-white head; flavor is spicy with some tartness, caramel, and yeast; finish shows a little hop bitterness.

Bitter malt aroma. Flavor has light malt, mold, and cardboard. It doesn’t have any ale character and I thought it was a lager. Undrinkable.

Bomber from Liquid Solutions. Rather different, almost soapy, aroma. White head didn’t last long. Brilliant copper color. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is spicey. Seems to be a bit of candi, and, yes, I agree there’s a touch of n-amyl acetate. Nice touch of bitter hop. No question that it’s in style. It’s just rather different. Considering how diverse the Belgians are, there’s room for this. Finish is mildly sweet, starts to show some heat, and a bit of floral hop. A peppery, but low key, spice note is still present. Pretty good, but not so tasty as I’d prefer.
