Can, gift from Tom. Hazy golden body with a few small flacks beneath a thin white head. Low carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of marzipan, butter and blood orange. Flavour of orange cream and lemon sponge with a slightly boozy finish. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Sweet and sugary. Just ok.

Can from Asda, Aberdeen beach. It pours lightly hazy golden - yellow with a medium fluffy white head. The aroma is quite sweet, creamy, tropical fruit punch, passionfruit, mango, peach, melon, candy and a touch green/weedy. The taste is initially dryish, fairly firm, quite cloying sweetness, green, pine, herbal, soft, sweetish, creamy, passionfruit, mango, peach, weedy and toasted oats with a softish, sweetish fruit finale. Average body and fairly soft finish. Sits a bit sweet in my opinion. Decent fruity character, but I wouldn't rush back.

Can from Asda and welcome after a long day driving children around. Good pour with some lingering bubbles. A great rich and fruity hop flavour with loads of mouthfeel. A top quality and very drinkable ipa. And I love the art on the can.

440ml can from Asda. Poured a murky yellow golden colour with a short-lived, frothy white head. The aroma is tropical citrus fruits. The flavour is moderate to light sweet and bitter, with a smooth, creamy, somewhat rich, yeasty, nutty, citrus fruit, light floral, light pepper spicy hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. If there were such a thing as an old skool NEIPA, this would probably be it!

Can from ASDA Supermarket, Manchester. Hazy golden with some strength behind it and a head. Soft, slightly creamy in taste, it has light tropical fruit notes in both aroma and taste.

Can. Asda. “Creamy and sweet just like a NEIPA should be”. Hmm. Hazed medium gold. Slim sticky white foam. Orange sorbet. Oats. Light citrus hop twang. Taste is pretty sweet overall with some pithy bitterness. Slick and creamy, as promised. Fine carbonation. Bittersweet finish errs more towards the sweet. Edward it ain’t.
