Tasting at Matt’s
Orange cloudy color. Beet aroma (earthy and fruity). Mild beet flavor, lightly vinous, but the barrel aging is gentle. The result is drinkable but totally unneccessary to the beer world.

650mL bottle, pours a cloudy amber orange with a small white head. Aroma is very earthy, red wine barrels, and BO. Flavour is very murky and messy, with dirty beet, dirt and red wine barrels. Not sure why you'd take a terrible beer and barrel age it -- at least this isn't as bad as the base beer. Weak, dirty beer.

Bottle: Poured a reddish/amber color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of beets with some residual sugar notes and light spices is intriguing. Taste is a nice mix of residual sugar notes with clear beets notes with some light spices and vinous notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Interesting.

A reddish copper ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, loads of sugar beets, fruity esters, light mineral notes, Epsom salts, nice. In mouth, sweet fruity malt with light beets, mineral notes, light Epsom salts, very nice. Bottle from Jean François at GRMs tasting.
