Juicy Dream!

A pillowy white head on a clear lemon juice body. The nose is of moderate prominence, with pineapple, lemon and orange notes. A gnarly citrus hop presence dominates the initial flavour profile. I’m not complaining. The pineapple, orange and lemon in the nose are magnified in the beer taste. The bready malt steps back to let the fruity hops step up. The strong bitterness works well with the clean, crisp mouth feel and finish. Along with Aroma Therapy and This is Not a Pumpkin Beer, the Juicy Dream completes a powerful triumvirate of punchy IPAs for BTP this brewing season. Has anyone in Ontario done better?

Growler from the brewery. Hazy yellow pour, big white head. Aroma is grapefruit, loads and loads of grapefruit. Light mouth feel, lovely carb. Strong citrus zest and oils, and really not much else. Very nice, but very one dimensional, and quite light, lacks a bit of balance and some malts. Easy drinking, and a hop home, but lacks balance and depth.

Growler: Poured a cloudy orangey/golden color ale with a nice large foamy head with good retention. Aroma of floral hoppy notes with light fruity undertones is quite nice. Taste is a great mix between some light fruity undertones with nice citrusy and tropical fruit hops with a smooth finish and light residual sugar notes. Body is full with good carbonation. I loved how the oat provide a smooth finish to this beer.

A hazed golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, nice fragrant resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, citrusy goodness, biscuit malt with, very nice. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, clover, very fragrant and smooth. Growler at Big Matt’s Eclipse tasting.

Mini growler. Une pointe de fleurs sauvages se mêle à une intense odeur de gazon frais coupé au premier nez. Légère pointe citronnée. Intensité marquée des houblons en olfactif. Un filet de mousse recouvre le liquide doré et flou, tout en s’attardant assez longtemps. L’attaque est légèrement citronnée avec un soupçon d’acidité, mais se développe rapidement en intense amertume. Un soupçon de poivre est également perceptible. Je m’attendais à une texture plus grasse vu l’emploi de blé et surtout de l’orge. Les notes de gazon sont assez intenses. Le blé est bien notable mais il y manque un peu de corpulence de l’orge. Bonne palette de saveurs mais je l’aurais préféré plus large. Bonne buvabilité.
