Josef and Petr Krýsl have travelled to Shepherd Neame Brewery to brew this pale amber beer for us. The use of rare Czech hop varieties delivers aromatic citrus and spicy notes, along with a balanced bitterness to its full-bodied, malty flavour.

Cask @ Barum Top Inn, Halifax. Very mildly hazed amber colour with a smooth head. Malty taste, a little more bready-hoppy in its nose, finishing with an easy bitterness.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol October 2023. Amber coloured, with a slight, off-white, head. Leafy hops, a touch of citrus character, sweet malts and a moderately bitter finish. Ok.

Cask at Moon Under Water, Wolverhampton. This is such a lively pour that Wetherspoons staff have been instructed to pour in two portions and then combine the two by hand ! In my case it was overestimated and I was given an additional large mouthful – may have been deliberate. Anyway, pours golden amber with a large glaucous white head. There’s continental hops in the aroma, plus malts and grains. In the mouth it is decidedly watery and slightly sweet. Flavour starts off with some continental hops and caramel. Some bitterness comes in later alongside hints of lemongrass and herbs. Finish is slightly sweet. This is as dull as dishwater !

Cask at the Hope Tap, Reading (JDW). Clear deep gold with a white head and a light fizz, great condition. Lemon, grass, white pepper and a little caramel. Mild bitterness. A little dusty but otherwise quite enjoyable.

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] A straw coloured pour with a tight white head; grassy citrus aroma; quite syrupy in texture with a caramel malt taste; and a dry bready finish.
