This organic scotch ale is sweet and full-bodied, and right up your street if you're after something a bit stronger. It has whiffs of dark chocolate and taste of dark fruits.

Bottle courtesy of SimonTomlinson via the RB EU 2019-3 trade. Dark brown with a frothy, light beige head. All the good familiar aromas of the style: earthy with lots of toffee and a bit of smoke. Taste is mildly sweet with a hint of toasted bitterness near the end. Body is medium, texture slightly watery, carbonation mild. Not among the best of the style but still a good one.

Bottle brought back from Scotland - many thanks to Maarten! Pours hazy red-brownish with a lasting, thin, foamy, off-white head; little lacing. Aroma of brioche, caramel, peanut, green tea, dough, licorice, candied plum, (slightly artificial) milk chocolate. Taste is medium caramelly sweet, lots of brioche & licorice mixed with plum & raisn; light to medium herbal bitter middle carries green tea, nuts, spicy licorice & gingerbread. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, lingering nuts, but sweetness persists with hints of dough, caramel & faint warming liqueur alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Not the most pronounced Scotch but very enjoyable.

Draught, 6.8%Gorgeous deep sparkling burgundy colour under a mango-cream head; Liquorice, Japsweet, bit of wood, caramel, treacle. Sweet taste, more liquorice, treacle, toffee, caramel; blue plums. Despite the stickyness, not really well-bodied, let alone thick. Good carbonation. Bit... easy. Tastes as something for the kids, with alcohol added.
