Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from the brewery taproom. Pours lightly hazed, deep amber with a dense, lasting frothy light khaki head. Light to medium sweet flavour with rich toasted malt character, spicy grain, strong earthy-piney bitterness, dried orange peel, leaves, toasted caramel. Medium bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Bitter and resinous to finish, more rich toasted grains, ample malts. Super.

Bottle from the Kernel interweb shop. It pours deep red with a medium fluffy white head. The aroma is fresh, bright pink grapefruit character, toasty malts, some spice, tropical streak, passion fruit curd, mango, but also jammy red fruits, jam roly poly, cacao nibs and some pine. The taste is firmly dry upfront, pleasing bitterness which builds and lingers, toasty grains, peppery rye bread, toothy, coffee beans, cacao nibs, toasted pine, pithy, zesty, pink grapefruit, waxy rind, bitter orange and a touch of campari. Finish is toasty and spicy. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Robust and flavourful. Impressed with the depth this has.
