Pig’s Ear Fest. Cask. Light haze on this gold beer, a few white bubbles for a head. Nose of bitter hops and solvent! Palate is smooth and semi dry and just modest fine carbonation. Light malts. Crystallised fruits. Orange peel, hop spice, some solvents in the taste but not as strong as the nose and they burn off to a degree after awhile. Well I was really looking forward to this, an Oakham DIPA - what a disappointment! Clearly something wrong here. Hope I get a chance to try it another day.

Cask. Gravity dispense. Barrow Hill jamboree. Pale gold. Bubbly white head. Nose has ripe orange. Grapefruit. Passion fruit. Taste is chewy, oily bitter. Plenty of malt sweetness. Robust mouthfeel. Long, chewy bitter finish. Could fancy this from bottle or keg more than cask.

Cask Gravity at the WHOAF 2015. It pours clear deep gold with a thick white head. The nose is soft, sweet, juicy lychee, lemon meringue pie, pithy tangerine, mandarin and peach. The taste is crisp, bitter, quite clean, lychee, lemon sherbet, fragrant pine, minerals, pineapple, tangerine and peach with a clean, dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Brilliant condition from this dispense method. Drinks way easier than it should. Very nice.
