Boris pours black and opaque like a moonless sky over Siberia. Eight different malts bring a complex aroma and flavor of chocolate, coffee and roasty sweetness. And just in case the winter gets too cold, we brewed this giant spider to 10% abv. So grab you snifter and ushanka and enjoy.

Location: Bottle at Paul's Blind Impy Stout Tasting (which makes a lot of sense for this beer), 1/5/13
Aroma: The nose has lots of roasted malts, with some coffee and chocolate
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a small tan head and some light lacework
Flavor: The taste is heavy malt, with lots of roast, this one is more roasty then sweet/chocolatey
Palate: The body is fairly full, it is creamy, has a nice drinkability, a minimal burn
Overall Impression: I thought this one was well-made and more then solid. Very nice job! I'll happily re-visit this one again, and I'm looking forward to trying more of the Spider Bite beers.

Thanks to beastiefan2k for sharing - pour is inky black - thin tan lace - nose has quite a bit of bittersweet chocolate, roast, anise, hints of smoke, light woodiness and spice - low carbonation, slick mouthfeel - flavor is fairly sweet up front - chocolate and vanilla - this is followed by deep (but not astringent) roast, warming, spicy alcohol, anise, woodsmoke, leather - some dark fruit on the finish, with a light tartness - very tasty - well done, Larry!

Bottle. Really black color, I got to say that this may be the blackest pour I have ever seen. Has a halo lacing. I think my soul is being sucked into this beer. Aroma is sweet molasses, dark ash, fumy, just a little bit of bacon. There is like an alcoholic Bon Bon thing going on. Flavor is chocolate bacon (not smoke) with a bitter hop bite and a rich tobacco and just a light hop sweetness. The beer is not thick and easier to drink than expected from the aroma. An overall pleasure to drink. I wish I could get more of this. One of the best imperial stouts I have ever had.
