660ml bottle. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Had this about a year. Really dark, chestnut brown. Thin and dense, glossy topped, sticky, tan head. Looks boss. Nose has chocolate cake. Sour vine fruit. Some cardamom. Some cinnamon. I don’t get any coriander. It’s plenty herby and richly fruity, though. Taste is soft sweet, with some spicy, floral, herbal dryness. Soft and silky mouthfeel. Drinks easy at the ABV. Dry and herb spice to finish. Nice porter.

Mother Kelly’s. Keg. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Palate is light, dry and has a good fine crispness. Smooth dark malts, mild dark chocolate, some malt cream. Cooling cardamom. Herby minty fruits. Smooth finish. Cardamon linger. Gruit stout! Pretty drinkable.

Keg @ Piccadilly Tap, Manchester. Extremely dark (it lets no light through), with a thin off-white head. Strongish tasting, but its slightly sugary sweetness subdues this a lot. Has a sweetness in its nose too with more than a hint of dark fruits throughout.

Bottle from Old Shambles Tavern in York. Coriander and cardamon noticeable. Decent malt bill. Complex and interesting.

Cask at CBC SG - London. Pours clear, deep brown with a creamy tan head. The nose holds modest roast, mint, coffee, cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with a bit of cola character, bitter scorched earth, leathery berries, chocolate, cool mint. Medium to full bodied, lightly oily, with fine carbonation. Finishes with a hint of alcohol warmth, sugary dark malts, more mint, cocoa, dried berries, some earthy bitterness. Somewhat tasty but not very cohesive.
