Draught, 10% at KØ17 as Nøgne Ø Imperial Tropical Stout. Good roasted aroma. Black colour. No head. The flavour is roasted with a sweet liquorice note. Medium to high bitterness. Quite sweet, even sugary, but does not have enough hops to be jammy. Still pretty good.

Bottled 500ml (Etre-Gourmet)
Opaque black colour, medium-sized steady brownish head. Aroma is toasted and sweetish with notes of vanilla, cane sugar and plums. Full-bodied. Flavour is not really par to aroma. Lots of coffee, roastyness, not so sweet than expected. Some toffee, lurking vegetables. Boozy kick. Finish has licorice, otherwise it is not so evident. Has potential but is quite restless - like something taken from the all first three Dark Horizons.

From a 500ml on 30/6/2017. Rating number 1500 sees me sample my first Nogne in quite some time. Pours a dark, dark brown with bugger all head. The nose features caramel and chocolate with hints of fruit and booze. The flavours features chocolate, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, set off against a modest roasty bitterness and some licorice. The texture is slick and the carbonation soft. Not sure why they call it a tropical stout, but it’s a very pleasant dessert-like impy, albeit one that doesn’t really stand out.

Black with thin creamy head. Aroma and flavour have plenty of liquorice and also an element of burnt, almost smokey caramel. Very rich.

On tap at Man in the Moon 17. mai. Black with a small tan head. Roasted with coffee, chocolate and licorice. Similar taste, also with some vanilla and dark fruit. The body was full and the finish a bit on the sweet side. Also some notes of warming alcohol in the finish.
