10th February 2015
Craft Clerkenwell. Cask. Bright clear amber beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, semi dry, mild fine carbonation. Smooth malts, fairly sweet. Good juicy fresh orange and orange marmalade hops. Tropical fruits and red berry fruits add depth and colour. Some hop spice before a light finish. The hops spice lingers on. If this was on keg, an easy 4+

Cask at Cask Pub and Kitchen, Pimlico, London. An amber/red coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Rich, orangey, caramel aroma. Tastes of orange, caramel, pine, slightly sweet with a little bitterness. An excellent rich tasting ale, possibly the best I’ve ever had from Dark Star, nice work.

Cask at Craft Clerko. It pours clear red-amber with a decent beige head. The nose is sweet, juicy, stewed orange, fruit cake, brioche, mild caramel and fresh pine. The taste is bitter-sweet, sweet doughy malt, brioche, pine, resin, light toast, red berry, orange rind and a touch of pepper, with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Very nice bitter-sweet balance. Drinks good.
