Strata, Simcoe, Idaho 7 and Centennial hops.
A West Coast IPA that is the current culmination of all of our clear IPA knowledge. We are so stoked on the vibrant pine and citrus peel aroma that is balanced by an oily hop resin driven body, clean, rejuvenating bitterness and high carbonation.
Dank of the West achieves a harmony of elements that we have been tweaking and adjusting for many years and now feel like we are getting it truly right. It’s impossible to describe perfectly, really you need to just taste it.

Can. Seems to have just arrived in Melbourne shops but there's no visible date. Misted yellowish gold with a cm of white head. Aroma of citrus peel - some candied - tropical lollies, pine needles. Clean with very light crackery malt that's just about enough to support the mainly citrusy fruit. Dryish and firmly bitter finish. Nice, if a little austere.

Pint can pours with a crystal clear pure gold body that supports a white head of foam. The aroma offers up citrus, spicy to pine hops and then a bit of white grape and mango. The taste delivers bitter grapefruit like hoppiness bleeding into a modest yet growing mango hop juiciness. It evens out midway and the kind of thin palate takes this into a nice balanced finish. Per Oakes comment, this is hardly sweet but rather firmly on the dry side. I dig it. It's a little shallow and thin but the flavor is refreshing.

On draught at Ale Arsenal. Hazy and straw with a white head. Really nice and well balanced, although I thought the dank was restrained and interplayed well with the fruits.....so less subdued than expected given the title.

Bright gold, just a thin head. A bit weedy with some overripe stone fruit, and the malts are fairly sweet. A bit too sweet for the style

Poured from a 16 oz can dated May 23, 2022. Aroma is hop forward and citrusy with lots of grapefruit, orange, melon, pine and dank, oily, resin notes. Medium light cracker malt notes and hints of alcohol. Pours a rather clear, brilliant yellow-gold with a medium sized, medium thick, white head that recedes fairly quickly to a thin film that lingers. Medium light lacing and small legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with moderate cracker malt notes and hints of biscuit and caramel. Moderately strong bitterness and light alcohol notes. Fairly strong hop nots of pine, grapefruit, orange and dank resin notes with hints of melon and stone fruit. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency with low alcohol warmth. Overall, a really solid IPA with balanced hop notes and bitterness that work well with the somewhat strong malt profile and sweetness. Hop notes do have a slightly soapy character to them, but its not bad unless you start thinking about it (you readers are welcome).
