Bottle on 105&376, thanks to Dave, 16/07/21. Murky chestnut brown with a good sized light beige cap. Nose is dried fruits, stewed fruits, brown bread. Taste comprises brown bread, dusty fruits, dark malts, toffee. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. So so affair ... lacks depth for the ABV.

Bottle ordered from Twisted Crow, Basingstoke. Aroma is roasty and porridgy with burnt caramel and tar. Opaque chestnut. Foamy off-white head. Medium bitter. Liquorice and coffee with a resinousstreak. Underlying burnt caramel then sweeps through like warp spasm crazed berserker. Smoky throughout. Light-medium bodied. Thin creamy mouthfeel. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long astringent finish. Enjoyable but not sure it's what valkyries would be quenching a fallen warrior's first with. That would have been mead? The basic 'oatmeal pale ale' description really doesn't give any clues ad to what the beer is actually like.

Third of a cask pint at the Scottish Real Ale Festival in Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange on 7th July 2017. Amber with a ruby hue, decent white head. Bready, malty nose and taste, mixed fruit bowl also. Complexed and tasty, liked it and it’s alcohol level which was well hidden.

Bottle in Oldmeldrum. It pours clear deep amber - brown with a medium white head. The aroma is rich, malt - driven, earthy, wood, cereal, brown bread, toffee and a hint of stewed orange. The taste is rich, bitter, earthy, wood, tannins, bread, porridge, toasty grain, cereal, some warming alcohol, apricot, oily orange and leather with a drying and woody finish. Medium - full body and fine carbonation. Rich and interesting malt-driven beer. Decent stuff.

Bottle. Alesela. A gift from TVT. Cheers Tim! Hazy, deep copper colour. Firm, lasting, cream head. Nose has some rye like spice. Tangerine. Orange peel. Hob Nob biscuit. Touch of soap. Taste is floral, spicy, floral bitter. Some soapy sweetness. Decent mouthfeel. Smooth and full, but the ABV isn’t present, particularly. Spicy, floral bitter finish. A little bland, overall.

500ml bottle from trade with McAshtonCobb. Pours clear copper, thin white head. Aroma is nice sweet juicy fruits. Taste is lovely smooth sweet fruits, toffee, sweet malts, light alcohol.. gets a tad flat and boozy rich by the end, but for the most part pleasant enough.
