Appearance: black in the pour and black in the glass with a finger's worth of tan foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: milk chocolate, dark chocolate, vanilla, cake/batter/doughy tones; light notes of chili peppers, super subtle coffee roast way down in there
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to spicy vibe; finishes vanilla smooth with the cake/doughy sweetness and a touch of spicy chilis
Texture: medium bodied, great sipper; light smoothness and an ample tone of chili heat laying down the law a bit on the tongue
Overall: I say a very nicely done impy stout which made a great ender for that night.

Can from the lcbo. Jet black oily pour with a medium brown head. Aroma is sweet dark soy, dark cocoa syrup, smoky chipotle, sweet vanilla chocolate cake. Mouth feel is viscous and oily, soft carb, almost flat. Finish is medium bitter, sweet, huge roasted, burnt coffee, massive amounts of roasted malts, soy and dark cocoa. Sweet vanilla notes, smoky peppers. Complex and a great sipper.

0.473l can. Blaxk body with a moderate brown head that leaves a nice lace. Nice chocolate and coffe notes in the aroma with noticable pepper, cocoa and vanilla notes. Taste is similar to the aroma with lots of coffee notes, vanilla, cocoa, coffee, cream and caramel. Very smooth, creamy texture. Awesome.

473 ml can, as Evil Twin / Prairie Even More Bible Belt, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 13%. Pitch black colour, large to moderate tan head. Aroma of chocolate / cocoa, roast malts, mild coffee, vanilla, only a hint of chili. Rich mouthfeel. The moderately sweet flavour has the same elements as the aroma, but the chilies are more pronounced now, with a hint of smoke (smoked chilies? - or a little smoked malts?). A slight chili burn in the aftertaste, moderate bittering hops.

Clear dark brown to black beer, small creamy light beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: oxidized, very roasted, dry, dusty, soy sauce, very malty. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet and sugary start, good roast, alcohol, hoppy touch, bitter, coffee, dark chocolate, roasted. Aftertaste: bitter roast, alcohol, sweet touch, ok but not great.

Noire obsidienne, dorée et huileux au verre, col café au lait.
Arôme sur le gros malté américain - caramel, chocolaté, biscuité, léger café avec une pointe d'épicé de chili qui perce en retrait sans être surfait.
Palais est malté épais, collant aux lèvres, cloying, boozy avec un retrait léger de chocolaté/café. Le volet épicé des piments et apporte une petite note de chaleur.
Version qui déçoit un peu - loin derrière ce que CCB fait et ce que j'ai pu déguster par d'autres brasseries. Egalement servive trop froide.
