21st November 2022; Shrewsbury Beer Share, five guys and loads of beer. Pint can (568ml); BB 18th May 2023. Brought by me and obtained in a local Polish store. Strange beer all round really, seaweed and fish paste came to mind as I sniffed and tasted my share. Poured a funny brown with no real head. Not a beer I can recommend.

Can from the Euro Food Centre, Banbury; the Latvian entry for our Eurovision feast. It's my first Latvian rate and only my second kvass. It's a dark brown, very fizzy and with an immediately vanishing head; ie it looks like cola. Taste is of dark rye bread, a hint of treacle and a lot of dark brown sugar; it's very sweet. It's also a little watery at times and there is a faint hint of sourness at the end. Not had enough kvasses yet to judge what makes a good one; I suspect this is not one of the best though. It's too sweet and definitely not as good as the first one I had, but I still quite liked it and want to try more of the style.

Can in Riga. Smooth grainy sourish rye malty beginning. Round and not too sweetish. Mild, not too deep with a sweetish rye aftertaste with hints of sourness.

Toffee, raisin aftertaste. Medium full mouthfeel, low bitterness. Sweet, toasted, raisin scent.Really enjoyed this, perhaps a tad to sweet to drink a lot of, but fully enjoyed the 33 cl glass I got from it.7/3/6/4/12=3.2

On tap at Lido. Dark brown colour, beige head. Aroma of Haagse Hopjes, coffee and caramel, quite sweet. Flavour of coffee, brown sugar, Haagse Hopjes, again quite sweet. Light bodied. This one was actually not too bad for a macro Kvass, but it just reminds me of the horrible Dutch Oud Bruin too much.
