Keg @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Practically black with a small off-white head. Has a potent fusion of roasted malts and tropical fruits in its aroma, with a similar taste. Itโs strength is not too evident.

Keg at the hanging bat. Pours black, nose is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, taste is dry, bitter, roasted, light fruit.

Keg at mother kellys. Opaque black pour with a lasting frothy light tan head. Aroma is dirty grains, dank hop with a some pine needle, burning pine wood. Flavour is composed of charred toast, sweet citrus GOP, burnt pine. Fairly rustic and rough round the edges. Palate is medium bodied, semi sweet, little sticky on the tongue, moderate to high carbonation. Lingering pine and burnt toast.

Cask at the 2015 National Winter Ales Festival, The Roundhouse, Derby. Dark brown pour. Blackcurrant and raisin aroma. Lots of spicy-fruit flavours in there. Malt laden mouthfeel which leads to a long bitter-fruit finish. Nice.

Cask, gravity at The National Winter Ales Festival, Derby, Friday 13th February 2015 in company of Chris, Ruth, Jan, Charlotte, Neil, dad and Pauline. Pours dark brown in colour, and few tan bubbles skip across the surface. The nose is both citrus and also pine. Quite a juicy beer with some citrus showing a little bit of marmalade, yes there is certainly orange and grapefruit definitely in evidence. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Cask at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Pours deep brown with a foamy beige head. Good snout, lots of gooey pine, earth, rich roast and cocoa, some juicy orange. Medium sweet flavor with well roasted malts, charred meat, more juicy orange, some grapefruit, burnt grass, baking cocoa, bitter earth. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Great finish, at once raw and hard with roast and bittersweet cocoa but also juicy with wet, citrusy hops; itโs a great accomplishment. An excellent cask CDA.

Cask ale, half at The Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell. Remaining, patchy fawn-coloured head. All black body. Malt-fruity smell, mid-sweet. Taste character of dark fruits, grapefruit, and cocoa. Even supported by hints of coffee ground. Mild roasted ending. Medium bodied. Pleasing on the palate (London 28.09.2014).

Keg at Craft Clerko, 30/09/14. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a moderate tan swirl and edgework. Nose is pine, spice, dark orange marmalade, dank hops, bitter tropicana, light smoke. Taste comprises dark red berries, tangy tropical fruits, spice, pine, light roasty tones. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid CDA.

Craft Clerkenwell. Keg. Hazy deep brown - black beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and light, decent fine carbonation. Good dark malts with a decent (ie moderate) amount of roast. Touch of bitter dark chocolate. Good piney hops with an undertone of juicy citrus. Light finish. Nicely balanced rich CDA,. Very drinkable.
