Bottle 330ml. [ As Inkspot Czech Black ].Clear medium to dark red brown color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, sweet malt. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, sweet malt, roasted, toasted, sugary, brown sugar. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20151005] 7-2-7-3-14

The Travlr tasting at ChrisO’s. Thanks to Gene for all the beers and Chris for hosting. Clear amber - brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry. Light tangy chocolate malts, toffee as well, bitterish toffee. Light finish. Okay.

Bottle courtesy of Erzengel, thank you! Clear deep amber color. Aroma of dusty cocoa. Taste is burnt caramel. OK.

Bottle in The Bull, Streatham, London - dark brown to black pour with thin beige head. Aroma and taste is sweet malty with some chocolate and coffee notes throughout, some nice roasty burnt malty notes on the palate, light carbonation, overall not bad. ---Sent via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle split at LKS Towers, thanks to Imdownthepub, 05/05/15. Mahogany brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is toffee, spice, biscuit, malt. Taste comprises dark malt, black pepper, spice, toffee, biscuit, dark fruit notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok schwarz, fairly simple affair but ticks the style boxes.

Bottle shared at Leightons place. Thanks to Paul. Clear light brown coloured pour with a halo of grayish head. Aroma is earthy wood, strawberry, dusty, manure. Flavour is composed of ashy, burnt wood, tangy berry, sweet fruit. Palate is medium sweet, moderate carbonation, Lingering burnt toast and dusty. Ok effort.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Daniel. Pours clear reddish brown with a creamy tan head. The nose has a bit of tobacco, leaves, dry bread. Light sweet flavor with some ashy roast, minerals, cigarettes, burnt leaves. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly sweet on the finish with more smoke, cigarettes, leaves. Not good.

Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours deepest brown with minimal beige head. The nose is sweet, candy, raisin, dried cranberry, caramel and earth. The taste is smooth, caramel, toast, berry, dried fruits, roasted malts and mild acidity with a short, dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. OK.
