The brown Saint Médard is brewed with elderberries. it is a very pleasant beer to drink by the fireplace when it is cold outside.
It wears a brown color with dark ruby reflections, its brown head is creamy and beautifully held. It presents a hoppy, bitter and roasted nose. Its flavor on the palate is semi-dry, finely caramelized with nuances of toasted-roasted. At the end of the palate, we can distinguish the notes of red fruit which round off the roasted taste of the special malts.

Au Baron yeast
Brewed with elderberries
Malt: Pale-Ale, Pilsen, Munich, Ruby, Chocolate.
Hops: Brewersgold, Halerteau, Strisselspaltz

75cl bottle from Au Baron on a freezing cold March evening. Pours unclear deep mahogany brown, large off-white head. Rich caramelised toffee malt aroma. Flavour profile presents excellent harmony, wonderfully balanced, excellent dark sweet depth, some gentle spice.. didn't now it was brewed with Elderberries when I had it, didn't particularly jump out. Still, a fantastic dark brune.
