Cask at Cross Keys, Covent Garden. Low key coffee aroma. Dark cola brown. Blotchy tan head. Malty with some suprisingly sweet sugaryness. Perhaps some berries in the mix, 5 after some initial cream. Medium bodied. Low fat creaminess. Flat carbonation. Astringent finish. Not great, not offensive.

Cask at the Star Tavern, Belgravia. It pours darkest brown with a decent beige head. The nose is rich roast, bitter-sweet, ashy, ;liquorice, cacao, fruit cake and some Dandelion & Burdock. The taste is bitter-sweet, charred wood, ash, coffee grounds, light acidity, dark chocolate, pepper, umami, toast and some dry ash on the finish. Not bad overall.
