17 August 2019. At Gents Bierfestival X. Cheers to Anke, Kevin & the crew! Hazy black, lasting, small, frothy, tan head. Aroma of chocolate, raisin, caramel, peanuts, fig, dried banana, liquorice, herbal liqueur. Taste is medium malty sweet, quite fruity, offering raisin, ripe apple & pear, a bit chocolatey, nutty-toasty edge over bitter mocha, somewhat powdery coffee roast. Dry, herbal hoppy finish, lingering candied fruit, caramel, mocha, nicely warming liqueur-like alcohol. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Tasty Quadrupel with nice 'dark' & herbal touches.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Caramel and maple syrup in the slightly herbal aroma, malty sweet flavor with caramel, raisin, chichory and maple syrup. Alcoholic. Hint of coffee in the finish.

29/XII/18 - 33cl bottle @ C'kes Pick Your Poison Metal Music Tasting, BB: 23/V/19 - (2018-2050) Thanks to C'kes for sharing the bottle!
Clear purple orange beer, small creamy irregular head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: liquorish, bit malty, dry and dusty, spicy touch. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: pretty hoppy start, caramel malts, slightly roasted. Aftertaste: malty, some mocha, bit of caramel, dried fruits, prunes, some dark chocolate, hoppy finish, bit cheesy. Glad I was able to try this one, cause the keg was just finished when I visited Den Beyerd (Breda, NL).
