29/12/2019. Bottle from Warwick Real Ale, Warwick. Opened with a slight gush. Poured mid brown with a large foamy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, hops, fruit, biscuit. Medium sweetness, light bitterness, hint of tart. Moderate body, slight oily texture, above average carbonation. Sweet biscuit finish with some late developing lingering bitterness.

500ml bottle conditioned: BB 9th Nov 18. 4.5% ABV from the brewery. Poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard at home on 6th Jun 18. Saw no sediment leave the bottle, but I got a cloudy copper bodied beer with a huge white pillow on top. Yeasty nose and initial taste, plenty of malty aromas also. The malts take over flavour wise after the yeast frontage, later a slight hop bitterness surfaces to give a good lingering dry aftertaste.

30th November 2014
Hazy deep amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is pretty dry but has good minerally crispness. Light dry malts. Dry floralness. Trace of caramel. Good tangy dried fruit hops and a dry finish. Much too dry but otherwise okay.

Cask at the Old Swanne Inne (JDW), Evesham. Deep amber with a thick off-white head. Chocolate up front then biscuitty malt- more chocolate digestive than cookie, which is just fine by me. Lots of treacly toffee and just enough leafy hop to balance. As the name implies, this is dominated by crystal malt but I rather enjoyed it nevertheless- possibly it being my first autumnal-style bitter if the season helped? Nice and flavoursome and well-balanced nevertheless.

Cask at Sacks of Potatoes, Birmingham on 28th December 2013. New Barrel - 2nd or third pint pulled. Clear copper with decaying white foam and partial lacing. Intensly malty aroma with biscuit notes. Initial maltiness in-mouth is followed by tangy citrus and discreet savoury touch. Biscuit malts dominate the finish, and the mouthfeel is engaging, indeed slightly grainy, with medium body.
