Mum's the Word 5.5%  A Smoked Milk Porter with Cherries and Chipotle Chili that pours a deep black with ruby highlights and a beige head.  The nose is fiery chipotle with very mild cherry. Very round carbonation that is cola like. The taste is smokey chilli then tart cherries and some chocolate. Piquante goodness. Very very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg at Sadlers Brewhouse, Lye. Pours black with a small head. Aroma is coffee and smoked bacon. Taste has a smoked coffee start, ham on the finish and cola on the aftertaste. A little warmth from the peppers, tingles the lips.

Sweet fruity nose with hints of smoke. Pours very dark brown. Great silky mouthfeel. Challenging mix of flavours. The smokiness and milk balance well. Cherry could be a little stronger. Chipotle is welcomingly restrained. Fantastic sipper that opens up as it warms.

330ml bottle from Ales by Mail

Pours pitch black with a small white head. Aroma of roasty malts, milky lactic notes, hints of spices, pepper and lactic notes. Taste is smooth, sweetish and slightly lactic with some milky notes, hints of pepper and cherries. Finish is smooth, roasty and lactic with some hints of chili and cherries. A bit unbalanced and not spicy enough.

Bottle shared at Gremlin. Deep brown to black with a soapy khaki colored head that lingers throughout. Dark chocolate, fresh baked chocolate cake, cherries and coffee on the nose with a smoked ham character that hangs in the background. Medium body with medium to soft carbonation. Lots of roasted malt, mixed with mexican chocolate cake with cherries on top. Some light cherry stone dryness and chilli pepper on the finish. Amazingly complex for the ABV.

Bottle. Is it dark red or is that just suggestion? The former, I think. Fading light tan head. Aroma of plummy, slightly vinegary smoked chiles, chocolate. Smells like it’s going to be quite hot. A bit more to it than suggested by the aroma, almost a berry milkshake element that seems to move from mouthfeel to berries to chiles in short order. Not as spicy as expected and indeed there’s little heat at the end. No bitterness. Then it becomes clear the berries are cherries. They’re sweet. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
