A light and refreshing blonde/golden ale..
Seithenyn was the keeper of the sluice gates in the fertile netherlands of Cantre’r Gwaelod between Llyn and Ceredigion. He was also a drunkard and got very merry at the king’s daughter’s wedding one day. He neglected the sea-defences, a storm came in from the west and Cantre’r Gwaelod was drowned, creating Bae Ceredigion.

I have a 500 ml bottle located at a stop on our time in Wales late this spring. I pull the cap and pour into a Cowtown snifter to see an orange-gold liquid with a slender top of off white foam. The nose is grain and biscuit. And I have a drink, bread, grain, metal and a hint of caramel. Tolerably decent in a style that rarely yields a surprise.

26/9/2020. Bottle shared with / courtesy of SHIG. Cheers! Pours clear bright mid-gold with a small bubbly/frothy white head. Aroma of caramel, butter, sweet malt, touch of grass and herb. Medium sweetness and light bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation. Looked good, otherwise generally ok.
