Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 3rd February 2022. Deep copper with pale tan foam and an attached band of lacing. Rich, sweet and nutty aroma. Spiced fruits, peel and hazelnut in-mouth, and a finish of hazelnut, vanilla and nutmeg with an orange peel overtone. Light body and a smooth texture.

From wooden cask, third shared with Finn at Manchester Beer & Cider Festival, Wood Bar. Deep rosewood body, naked surface, poor lacing. inviting smell of caramel nuts. Similar taste of nutty caramel. Dry and mildly roasted end. Pleasing. (2nd day of the festival, 23.01.2020).

Fra trefat på Manchester Beer & Cider Festival 2020. Delt med Rune. Ultramørkerød. 0 skum. Lett nøttearoma. Smaken hasselnøtt. Litt surølpreg etter hvert. Tørr avslutning.

Cask at Angel, Stockport This one “does what it says on the tin”. The nose is – hazelnuts ! Pours a burnished copper with a creamy white head – is rather light for a mild. Is slow to settle, but does eventually. In the mouth is a misture of malty, fruity and nuttyness, with hazelnuts and raspberries able to be distinguished. The hazelnuts win out in the finish.

Cask at GBBF. It pours clear deep mahogany brown with a small white head. The aroma is sweet, oily, toasted hazelnut, cocoa, ferroro rocher, dull toffee and millionaires shortbread. The taste is dry, bitter, slick, oily, toffee, caramel, toasted nut, hazelnut, tannin and earth with a slick, sweet finish. Medium body, light carbonation and slick mouth feel. Fun mild.

Cask at The Alexander, Derby, Derbyshire, Friday 16th February 2018 Dark brown with a slim off white head, a little bit of caramel, a bit watery, there is a nutty touch, it is fine beer, personally I would like a little bit more from this. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3
