Cask (gravity) @ Nottingham Robin Hood Beer Festival (2014), Nottingham Castle, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England NG1 6EL. [ As Blue Monkey Big Blue ].Clear medium to dark amber color with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, toffee, marmelade. Initial flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter, finish flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, toffee, fruity, hoppy, initial marmelade. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20141010]

Bottle from metro wines. Leicester. Golden colour with a thin white head. Burnt or anger marmalade aroma. Taste light sweet. Mid bitter with a sweetish finish.

Bottle. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Clear, copper colour. Halo of white head. Nose has sweet, spicy, biscuit malts. Candied orange hop. Burnt toffee. Taste is thick sweet, and well stewed hop, bitter. Thick and cloying. Long, stewed hop bitter finish. Heavy going.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is light sweet malt, light hop, some alcohol. The flavour is moderate to strong bitter with a smooth woody hop, light citrus, alcohol bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle at the Night of Garbage, big thanks to our host with the most Leighton, 20/12/13 up a shit load of stairs ! Hazed orange amber with a moderate off white covering that retains well. Nose is bitter orange, light grapefruit, sticky mango, light pine. Taste comprises orange pith, mineral tones, earthy hops, light grapefruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry grassy bitterness in the finish. Decent.

Bottle thanks to Leighton at the Night of Garbage. It pours cloudy amber with a medium off-white head. The nose is orange, mango, apricot, Tango, resin, varnish and marmalade. The taste is bitter-sweet, orange, mango, Irn Bru, marmalade, varnish and minerals with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty tasty stuff.

Bottle shared at the Night of Garbage. Thanks to the Internet. Pours clear gold with a frothy white head. The aroma has toasted grass, minerals, dried orange rind. Light sweet flavor, some dry and smoked minerals, bitter grass and orange rind. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Dry finish, some flinty minerals, dry grass and pine. So so.

Light haze on this amber beer, small pale cream coloured head. Palate is softish and smooth. Mild fine carbonation. Light creamy malt. Nice hop medley here - light tangerine and lime. Decent floral notes. Dirty pithy bitterness brings up the rear and in to the dry finish. Tasty beer, just lacks the clean hop vibrancy of the very best.

500ml Bottle - Amber/copper in colour. Grapefruit, pine, toffee, fudge and floral hops in the aroma. Hoppy, fruity and tangy taste with peach, grapefruit, toffee and lychees detected. Excellent stuff.

On gravity at Bristol beer festival, 16/3/3013. Amber with a slight white head. Lime marmalade and pineapple, plenty of sweetness and a dryish, hoppy finish. Ok.
