Bottle from Melbicks Garden Centre, Coleshill. Clear light amber with small consistent white top, decent lacing. Aroma of sweet malts. grain, touch of marmalade, floral to herbal note. Taste of toasted malt, light diacetyl butter note but light enough to add to flavour rather than detract, some citrus. My issue is the finish has light herbal and spice notes and light bitterness - lacks an oomph for want of a better word even for a gold. Good body and smoothness for the strength though. OK.

On tap at the brewery, Abingdon on one of the open nights courtesy of Will, Tuesday 5th February 2019. We slept in Frank in the carpark. Pours more light amber than gold with a smattering of bubbles across the surface, good clarity. It's a fairly standard bitter, fruity, a little dry, quite MOR but drinkable and pleasant enough.

Bottle at home from Laithwaite. Another golden ale and probably the worst that I have had from this brewery. There was quite a strong flavour of corn to the beer and this was finished quickly. Their other beers were brilliant, but this wasn't.

GBBF Day 3. Cask. Clear gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and dry and has very modest carbonation. Dry malts, not that sweet and a touch grainy. Mild dry floralness. Modest orange and orange peel. Dry finish brings mild bitterness. Grainy and dull but not horrible.
