Tasting at Bruce’ s pad. Thanks to Leighon for filling in the Brew By Numbers holes! Light haze on this gold beer, good pale cream coloured head. Soft airy palate, semi dry. Mild minerally carbonation. Airy creamy malt. Little tangy lemon and light piney hops. Mild hop spice. Airy dry finish with a floral linger.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at the brewery. Pours almost perfectly clear, quite effervescent, with a large, wispy white froth head. Enticing aroma with lightly doughy malts, some wheat, hints of lemony citrus, bubblegum, perhaps some cardamon. Light to medium sweet flavor with doughy white bread, lightly tangy lemon, wheat, subtle spices, slight citrus rind bitterness. Light bodied with lively, massaging carbonation. Dynamic finish with further pale bread, wheat, hints of lemon meringue, tangy citrus, vanilla and other mild spices, slight hay. Exceptionally well balanced and drinkable.

Bottle at home, thanks to Leighton for bagging this for me at the brewery, 14/10/13. Lightly hazed golden with a mahoosive forthy white head that retains well - looks the Saison bollocks does this chap ! Nose is lemon rind, grass, touch of soap, herbal, faint mint leaf. Taste comprises bitter lemon, grass, light spice, herbal notes, farmy, orange pith, tangy apricot, faint soap. Medium bodied, light spritzy carbonation befitting the style, lemon jam in the finish. Top draw saison !

Says Saphir & Lemon on the bottle. Bottle at the Brewery. It pours hazy golden yellow with a small white head. The nose is grassy, earthy, leaf, hay, grapefruit, lemon and emmental cheese. The taste is crisp, lemon, grapefruit, grassy bitterness, spice and wood with a dry, citric finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Decent saison.
