500ml bottle from Westhill Service Station. It pours lightly hazy golden orange with a medium fluffy white head. The aroma is soft, hearty white bread, biscuit, pleasing fruit vibes, orange peel, tangerine, splash of fanta, apricot and mango. The taste is crispy, dry, snappy, pleasing bitterness which lingers, nip of peppery spice, touch green, pine needles, hearty bread malt, biscuit, pithy, zesty, tangerine, flinty, floury bread, touch green and some grassy vibes with a drying finish. Medium body and fine to moderate carbonation. Rounded and quaffable. A solid Kernel apa. Moreish.

Bottle at home, picked up from Mother Arch ii, 29/10/23. Almost clear golden orange with a good sized lasting white head. Nose is tangerine, creamy malts, bready, an almost vanilla custard like aroma at times, grass, melon. Taste comprises orange zest, grass, faint minerality, lemon nip, light herb, melon. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close splashed with light juicy come grassy hop bitterness. Decent serviceable pale as is the norm with Kernel. Also rated on tap at MAii on 27/10/23 ... also 3.7 ... bottle usually edges it.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from the brewery taproom. Pours mostly clear gold, lightly effervescent, with a frothy, pure white head. Light sweet flavour with notes of pine, lemon rind, grass, earth, tangerine. Light bodied with massaging carbonation. Graceful finish, balanced but bitter, supportive pale malts, more earth, grass and pine, citrus rind accents. Wildly drinkable.

Bottle. Kernel online. Hazed pale glowing gold. Gorgeous Kernel swede. Bright mineraly character up front. Notes of lemon and yellow melon skin. Some white grape. Light fresh malts. Taste is pithy and mineraly bitter. Barely a touch of sweetness. Light on the palate. More of the mineraly bitterness to finish. Not a top tier Kernel but it’s still a lovely pow wow.

A light haze on this gold beer, good bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is airy, semi dry and has a fine minerally crispness. The pale malts follow the normal Kernel norm of feeling slightly thin but delivering a decent creamy sweetness. Trace of smoke lingers waaay in the background! The hops bring crisp pine and a pinch of hop spice. After that it's a bit of a morass of light hop fruity flavours. Light crisp citrus, mild Galaxy tropical fruits. Light crisp finish. As the beer climbs the thermometer, some El Dorado Sakura comes through, along with some Topaz tropicals. This is a nice pale, but, the hops are not as obvious as they once were with Kernel.
