Bottle from Plus supermarket in Gulpen. Color: Murky brown, light brown head. Aroma: Sweetish Rum, raisins. Taste: Smooth mouthfeel, sweetish and fruity Rum, raisins, dark dried fruit, malty, floral hop backbone, hints of almond. Subtle boozy notes. Over medium body, low carbonation. Medium to over medium sweet, light to moderate bitterness.

Bottle shared at home with Joen and Laura. Dark red-purple-brown color, small off-white head. Aroma is malts, rum, raisins, sweet. Flavor is similar, with loads of rum and raisins and sweetish notes. Quite nice actually, even though its fairly thin bodied.

Bottle drunk watching Dune 2 on a Strohwitwer evening. Dark brown, thin head, yeasty-bready caramel nose with definite rum notes. Rich and smooth, not too hot with alcohol, this is a prima dessert beer! Great job with this cask.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Big Rum upfront, boozy with loads of raisin, malt, more dried fruit, spicy notes, alcohol. Medium sweet, boozy finish. Very nice with a strong rum profile, well done Gulpener.

Aus der Flasche (bbe 11.06.2025) im 2004-01 getrunken. Diese braunrote Ale kommt deutlich malzig mit einer feinen leicht unstimmigen Säure daher. Interessantes Bier aber mehr auch nicht!

330 ml bottle. Pours a dark reddish brown with light head. Aromas of rum, copper, raisins and toasted malts. Flavors follow same. Dry and metallic. I think the rum enhances the latter, so maybe not the best match for a Quad.
