A dark ale with a bitter-sweet taste complemented by a pleasing hop aroma and aftertaste. Brewed with select English hops, this is a good honest traditional ale.

Cask at GBBF 2015, day 1 - London. Pours clear brown with a light tan head. The nose has some English yeast, toasty bread. Light sweet flavor with some soggy brown bread, faint leafy hops, earth. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Brown bread in the finish, light toffee. So so overall.

Cask at GBBF 2015. It pours clear deep brown with a small white head. The nose is toasted brown bread, soft fruit cake, mild spice, burnt pie and light tang. The taste is toasty, wood, leather, cocoa, weak coffee, toffee and light tang. Lightish body and fine carbonation. More of a mild than anything else. Not a whole lot to it.

500ml bottle. Clear very dark brown colour, foamy off-white head that leaves some lacing, and aroma of malt, dark chocolate, caramel. Taste is roasted malty with chocolate, berry fruit notes and an earthy bitterness. Watery mouth feel, light to medium bodied, medium carbonation, dry roasted bitter finish. Quite OK.

Dark bitter with a slight brown glow to it and the thinnest of heads. It has a more than average bitterness to it which dominates its character.
