27th Aug 2015: hand-pulled half-pint at the brewpub. Dark brown pour, with a full and lasting tanned topping. Roasted malts rule the nose and flavours in this fairly dry Mild as you would expect. Slight hop bitterness creeps in towards the end of each sip, pleasant and tasty, I liked it. Sat in the sun looking at the brewery helped, but so did the beers condition and freshness.

Cask at GBBF 2015, day 1 - London. Pours clear dirty brown with a light, creamy tan head. The aroma holds toasted malts, earth, faint cocoa. Light sweet flavor with some ashy tobacco, chocolate, bitter earth. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly drying on the finish, with more cocoa, earth, burnt leaves, ash. OK.

Cask at GBBF 2015. It pours deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is earthy, wood, toast, liquorice, meaty Bisto gravy and umami. The taste is toasty, damp wood, wet leaf, earth, mustiness and meat with a short, dry finish. Light body and low carbonation. A bit more meaty than I normally like my beers. Odd.
