A refreshing light golden brew, whose flavour is complex and mellow with a finely balanced floral aroma and smooth bitterness.

Cask at GBBF ’15, day 1, 11/08/15. Clear golden with a moderate off White swirl that dissipates to edgeing. Nose is pale malt, straw, melon. Taste comprises lemon rind, bread dough, straw, grain. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Whelming affair ... yawn.

Cask at GBBF 2015. Glowing florescent yellow, candy like, flat. Malty honey, sugar. Yuck nose. Minerals, cleaning compounds, honey. Terrible. Sweet and stringent together. Oily palate.

Cask gravity at GBBF 2015 day 1. Clear light golden coloured pour with a fine white head. Aroma is light grains, faint dirty citrus. A bit rustic on the nose. Flavour is composed of wheat grains, English yeast, plastic, stale grains. Palate is light, lowish carbonation. Boring.

Cask handpump at The Drapers Arms, Peterborough, Saturday 10th January 2015 on Whittlesey Straw Bear weekend (we stopped at Peterborough Central Travelodge) Pours mid gold with a white head, pleasant light stingy hop. Not much sweetness, dry finish. Excellent nick (fair play to JDW) good. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Cask at Wetherspoons, Milton Keynes. Light gold, very little head but decent lacing. Hints of grapefruit and spruce in the very muted aroma. Taste is pleasant - light, fruity and bittersweet - but not all that exciting really. Some bitter hop in the finish and aftertaste. One of those beers that you can’t fault, and you wouldn’t rule out having again, but doesn’t excite you. The craft scene has really spoiled me, I would have been thrilled by this a few years ago.

Superb looking golden ale backed up with a half decent aroma, disappointing taste though.
