The ultimate suburban brew, Backyahd is an aggressively hopped American IPA with a tantalizing hop aroma. The beer’s bitterness pairs perfectly with spicy foods coming straight off the grill. Enjoy it with friends, family, or whomever you choose. After all, it’s your Backyahd.

Brattleboro Food Coop six pack: pours amber with a whitish head. Aroma is pine and sugary malts. Taste is bitter drom start to finish with hints of sugar later on. This is about as east coast ipa as you can get. Ok.

Gravity dispense at GBBF ’14, day 4, 15/08/14. Hazed golden orange wih a moderate off white covering of bubbles. Nose is orange squash, juicy citrics, pithy citricicisms, straw, light bread dough. Taste comprises more orange squash, moderate hop presence, straw, light grapefruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with subtle hop bitterness. Easy drinking IPA but a touch 1D and lacking any great hop presence.

12 ounce can courtesy of Travlr. Thanks! Pours a hazy orange color with a medium sized fizzy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of tropical, citrus hops and caramel malt. The taste is bitter citrus, tropical and pine hops, pale malt and a mild bit of caramel. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, fairly strong lingering bitterness, mildly off balance.

At GBBF 2014. Hazy gold lasting white head. Grapefruit aroma. Lovely fresh hop and fruit. No great bitterness but fun none the less. Good.

12 oz can. Pours a hazy light Amber, small white head that dissipates quickly, no lacing. Weak aroma of sweet caramel and fruity hops, slightly too malty flavor, watery short finish.

Can by myself at the cabin in NH. Pours clear gold with a moderate, foamy white head. The nose has a bit of pine, some bread, dry orange. Medium sweet flavor with simple, moderately bready malts, bitter pine and dirt, some rindy citrus notes. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Decent balance on the finish, some faint astringent pine, more bread, citrus rind. Fair.

Can thanks to Travlr: Poured a hazy yellow to golden with white head. Aroma was light citrus hops. Taste was gritty citrus hops, but not harsh. Very refreshing and drinkable.

On cask at Track 84 Warwick, listed as Prince of the Yahd Comes to the table in a proper imperial pint glass. Visually, a slightly hazy light golden color with a huge fluffy creamy head that survives till the glass is empty. Extremely impressive retention! Aromas of bready malt and floral and citrusy hops. Flavor is bready with hints of caramel and just enough citrus and earth to balance with a nudge to the hop side. Medium body with a light level of carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. First beer of the night, so easy drinking, it slid completely down my throat before I knew it. Might be more of a pale than IPA, but its a solid brew.

12oz can from Georgio’s, Billerica, MA. A slightly hazy pour with a thin cream head; spicy west coast hop aroma; soft body with a fruity citrus backgound; and a crisp, but undefeined finish. Not the best American IPA, but it’s good to get an RI tick.
