Porter style beer with flavours of spice and dark fruit
Full Bodied, Dark Fruit & Winter Spices
A full bodied, dark Porter ale with roasted malt notes that give a depth of character which is perfectly balanced by the noble Challenger and Golding hops. The extra dark Crystal malt combines with subtle spice notes of cinnamon and is a great beer to enjoy on a typical winter's day or night.

Bottle from Sainsburys. Black body with a thin off-white head. Faint lacing. Aroma of nutmeg and fig. Flavour of red berries and rust. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A nicely judged, warming porter.

Bottle at home picked up from sainsbury. A dark mahogany brown black coloured pour with lasting khaki head. Aroma is mellow earthy roast, toasted nutmeg, dried apple, woody, dusty grains, tangy dark berries. Palate is semi sweet, light tang, moderate carbonation. Flavour is composed of semi sweet layered dark malts, tangy dark chocolate, fig, treacle, Christmas spicy, cinnamon, dried fruit. Decent.

Bottle from Sainsbury's and drunk at home. Dark brown almost black beer with a lasting tan head. Some chocolate, charcoal and coffee on aroma. OK in the mouth. Some fullness. More chocolate and mild spice towards the finish. Yes some mild spice like nutmeg or some such. Fine. Tasty enough

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from the shop in Dalston. Pours clear brown with a tight, billowing tan cream topping. Light sweet flavour with notes of rounded semi-dark malts, festive spices, subtle earth bitterness, toast. Light bodied with active, massaging carbonation. Finishes with notes of toasted brown bread, cinnamon, all spice. Nice stuff, really, overall.

Bottle from Eltham Sainsburys. Black pour with a beige head. Cinnamon, chocolate, smoke & toffee aromas. Taste is lots of cinnamon, cloves, toffee, caramel, light smoke action. Spicy sweet malarkey.

[50cl bottle from Sainsburyโs, Bracknell.] A glossy cola brown pour with a thick beige head; aroma of winter spices, Muscavado sugar and malt; cinnamon and ginger in the mouth with a sweet sugary malt body and some English hops adding bitterness; then more cinnamon and ginger to finish. Not too sure about this at first, but it grows on you.
