Saisons are all about the yeast. It’s the specific strains and relatively long fermentation that create the complex spicy, fruity esters and dryness. We used to two classic strains, a “Belgian” and a “French” one to create that classic Saison experience. We are quite
satisfied with it, as it has turned into a luxurious and complex beer. We thought it suitable to give it a fancy french name. We proudly present: Les Perles Du Homard.

(Draught at Foeders, Amsterdam, 15 Feb 2019) Golden colour with lasting, white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of bread, peaches, hay and flowers. Malty, fruity taste with peaches, mixed fruit, bread, grass, flowers, honey and a balanced grassy, citric bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and well made, quite strong and fruity for the style. Quite nice.

Deutlich hefiger, trocken würziger Beginn. Weiche Bitterkeit, mittelstarke Kräuternoten. Feine Karbonisierung, langer hefiger Abgang. 10/11/12/12//11

On tap at Dr. Beer, Antwerpen. Slightly hazy golden, diminishing small head. Dried fruit, pepper, spice. Figs, alcohol. Slightly floral. Flavour is light cinnamon, spices, dried fruit and sugary malts. Slightly boozy, strong, but body light and drinkable. Good balance, smooth and tasty. No bitterness. Moderate finish.

Draught Fluffy white head, lacerings; pale, rosy-copper beer. Spicy nose, dried spices, with a bit of caramel and fruit. Dried herbs with cheesrind. more bitter than expected; spicy, rootspices, faintly toasted malts. Light to medium bodied, Good carbonation. Completely hides its ABV. Decent, but not really special.

33cl Bottle at Meneer Jansen. Hazy light amber colour, white head. Aroma of overripe fruits, melon, yeast, spices, light veggie note. Flavour is a bit cloying, overripe fruit, melon, yeast, light spicy, malty, bitter finish, light alcoholic. Medium bodied. Didn't really enjoy this.

9 sept 2018: Bottle. Color: Clear golden, off-white head. Aroma: Malt, yeast, wheat. Taste: Smooth, medium to over medium sweet, malty, white sugar, yeast. Hints of funk and alcohol. A bit too sweet for me and lacking some complexity in my opinion. Medium to over medium body, just below average carbonation. Rating 6 3 7 3 13 = 3.2. Edit 9 jun 2020: Bottle. In addition to first rating: Medium sweet, quite spicy and yeasty, fruity orange hints and bitter orange peel notes. Medium bitter palate at finish. Complexity seems ok. Maybe I rated this as 'lacking some complexity' then because I was too unexperienced in this beerstyle, I wouldn't say that today. Still a little bit too sweet for me, but overall I would rate this one higher now. Rating goes up to 7 3 7 3 15 = 3.5.

Bottle @ home shared with Inoven. Hazy unclear a bit pale golden color, small off-white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, yeast a bit and typical light tart / tart-bitter. It reminds me of green apple-peel. Decent to medium body and carbonation. Ok.

Flesje gedeeld door Benzai. Oranje / geel, troebel bier. Aroma en smaak is fruitig. Nasmaak is iets wrang.
